tsuki ga kirei desu ne
i went to enoshima on a night when the moon was huge—you can't tell from the photo—and when it was a red that'd be terrifying if it were halloween. but it was not halloween, it was mid-august, and the sea-bridge teemed with teenage schoolchildren who began crowding at the railing to photograph the moon. i see discourse sometimes about how it sucks that everyone has their phones out at concerts. and like yeah, i agree. but this wasn't like that at all. i dunno, i think when something spontaneous happens and everyone wants to document it, it's sweet. it reminds me of the barn in delillo's white noise; we're part of "a collective perception", an "accumulation of nameless energies". but anyways, i digress—it was a beautiful evening. the moon was beautiful, wasn't it?
